About this register

Gridiron Kings is a small independent editorial index of hotels. It exists to describe buildings clearly and to group them in a way that makes the differences between them legible.

The site covers four categories and nothing else: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. The selection is deliberately narrow. Each entry is written from general, publicly evident characteristics of the property — the kind of structure it occupies, its setting, the facilities it is known for — and nothing is presented that would require a source we cannot stand behind.

What you will not find here

No star ratings. No user reviews, invented or collected. No prices, availability or booking functionality of any kind. We are not a travel agent, an affiliate marketplace or a reservation system, and we do not take payment from the hotels described.

On the casino category

Casino hotels are covered as hotels. The descriptions concern the building, the setting and the wider resort programme; a gaming floor is noted as one feature among several. The site contains no gambling promotion, no odds, no play-for-money content and no links to gambling operators.
