Constellation register
Eleven hotels, plotted like stars and joined by thin lines.
Gridiron Kings is an independent editorial index. Four categories, no rankings, no booking desk — only written descriptions of buildings worth knowing about, arranged so that the shape between them is visible.

The four constellations
Nothing here is ordered or ranked. The categories sit where they fell.
- Art HotelsHotels where the collection is structural rather than decorative.3 entries
- Capsule HotelsCompact rooms built around one honest question: how little is enough?3 entries
- Casino HotelsFull-service hotels that happen to keep a gaming floor downstairs.4 entries
- Ice HotelsRebuilt from water every winter, gone again by spring.1 entry
Why a chart rather than a list
A list implies a winner at the top. These four kinds of hotel have nothing to compete over: a capsule in Kyoto and a lakeside hotel from 1910 are not competing for the same night. So they are drawn as points instead — scattered, joined where a line is useful, and left irregular on purpose.
Every entry is written from general, publicly evident characteristics of the property: what kind of building it is, where it stands, what it was made for. There are no ratings, no reviews and no prices anywhere on this site, and there never will be.
